I didn't think I'd enjoy this book as much as I did, but ultimately, Prue's story ended up being too interesting to put down. Prue is out for a walk when suddenly her brother is abducted by a murder of crows and she goes through a lot, discovers a lot, and accomplishes a lot in the journey she goes through to get him back. Prue's town has always avoided what they call "The Impassable Wilderness" and it was really interesting to learn what secrets the wilderness had held for so many years. Definitely an adventurous book!Over 11 years agobookish5 added a book review.
This was a quick read that I found very different from any other book I've read. It features a psychic dog, a time machine, and a man on the run from the CIA with his three kids. It was full of adventure and suspense and I also really enjoyed the sequel!Over 11 years agobookish5 has read this book.

I really enjoyed this book, even though I had high expectations from the beginning. The main character in "The Giver" is named Jonas, and he lives in a utopian world where everything is suppposedly perfect. In Jonas's world, kids are given a role in the community at a Choosing Ceremony, and when Jonas receives the rarest assignment he starts a crazy journey that just might change his opinion on is "perfect" world. This book caused more and more questions as each chapter progressed, and even by the conclusion of this novel I was still asking myself so many things. That said, many things were answered in a way that I never expected, and as each page took a different turn, I realized that this book is in no way predictable.Over 11 years agobookish9 added a book review.
Lol I wrote a review but it didn't show up... Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'School of Fear' and now I'm hooked!! I've read the series a few times now and every book tops the last!!! I loved just how detailed every characters backstory was, and just how extreme their phobias were!!! My favorite character was Theo!!! re a talented author!!Over 11 years ago
