The reason this book only has 3 stars was because I felt like the characters were not themselves in this book, I mean, I enjoyed reading this and all that, but I found myself reading about a Percy and an Annabeth that I didn't know. In this story, Annabeth was kidnapped and tricked into holding up the sky for the Titan. First of all the Annabeth I fell in love with (not literally) in the first two books would never had been tricked into holding up the sky for the Titan. And second, the Percy we all know as caring but quite slow witted, would never had made the choices he made during the quest that he made, so I wouldn't really recommend this particular book to anyone, but overall the series has still been great.Almost 9 years agoemilyw21 added a book review.
I find the Battle of the Labyrinth much better than the previous book, The Titan's Curse, because I find the characters more like themselves in this book. The basic plot of this book was that after being attacked by two monsters at his freshman orientation at Goode High, Percy Jackson goes to camp-half-blood where he and Annabeth discovers an entrance to the labyrinth by accident. They then realized that since there was an entrance to the labyrinth in the camp, Kronos' army could easily attack the camp. So Annabeth, Percy, Grover, and Tyson go on a quest to stop the army before they could invade Camp Half-blood. I really liked this book because I think it was written in an interesting way and it keeps the reader captivated throughout the book.Almost 9 years agoemilyw21 added a book review.
I'm kinda sad now that I finished this series, but that's alright because there's still another Percy Jackson series to read!!! I really liked this series because I find the plot very funny and creative, and I would totally recommend this book to anyone that likes fantasy and adventure stories. Also, this series is the first I have read in a long time whose ending wasn't disappointing at all.Almost 9 years agoemilyw21 has read this book.

This book started out with Thalia's tree being poisoned, and Percy Jackson, along with Annabeth and Grover, sets out on a quest to the Sea of Monsters to look for the golden fleece, which will supposedly cure the poison and restore the magical borders that protects camp-half-blood. I think this is a great book if you have an afternoon where it's cold and rainy outside and all you want to do is cuddle with a blanket on your favorite armchair and read an exciting adventure book. That is, if you have already read the first book on another rainy day just like this. (Just throwing some hackneyed stuff in here to get the ball rolling...) What I really liked about this book was that it keeps you captivated throughout the book, but it's also quite short, which means you could probably sit down and finish this book in one sitting, skipping the entire "Oh my god I have to go but I can't put this book down" episode. Unless, of course, you didn't have the luxury of the cold, rainy, afternoon mentioned above. So overall, while this book is not the MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER, it is certainly worth your time, and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventures and fantasy.Almost 9 years agoemilyw21 has read this book.
